Tears are not far as I write this.... Today we say goodbye to a great man. Let this be said, President Hinkley, I love you and it gives me great joy and peace to have known that you were there. You inspired me. I say from the depths of my soul, Thank You!
The night I recieved the news I was at the home of a non-member friend and her husband. I had just signed onto the laptop that they let me use. I stared at the Yahoo welcome page in absoulte shock and disbelief, to the point where I nearly dropped the lappy. That night, as I lay on their sofa drifting towards sleep, I found myself finally giving vent to the sadness that I felt, but there is also joy, knowing that he shall be seen again.
This is not the first time that I have witnessed events such as these. I was baptized in 1992 amd in 1994 we lost President Benson. I recall the tears that came at the announcement, but I did not have time to grieve that night as it was the day that my mother was baptized. We so tried to change the date due to that, but events were already in motion.
I was also present to witness the funeral of President Hunter in 1995. I witnessed the service from the chapel of my ward and I sobbed something aweful. This is due to the family ties. You see my great-aunt was a Hunter, so I had lost a tie to my family

Snowed In!
Nine days until Christmas!
News today is that it snowed! Really snowed! I have not seen snow for three years so this is a sight to behold. White everywhere, and as I write this, it is still comming down. We are supposed to get a foot of it max.
Due to the road conditions though, they had to cancel Services. Let me tell you, that is a rare thing! I think it is only happened a max of five times since I was baptized in 1992!
The dogs are having a blast playing in it! My camera is down or I would have photos of this!
In other news:
I got news that repairs to the laptop will cost close to 200 dollars. Good thing is that the tech is willing to do it at my house after the holidays because I have a love for learning things like that.
It was the motherboard that blew and he said that it has been on it's way out for some time. Replacing it wil prolly fix the sound issues and the USB detection issues too, seeing everything is on the board.
Bad news is that I prolly won't have it done till February or March becuase I won't have the money until then, but I have my desktop until then. *grins*
On the writing front:
One of my books disappeared in the rearrangement of the front room for the putting up of the Christmas Tree. It has my idea journal with it too. I am convinced that I will find it when we put things back the way they were. Things for work on my YA is gonna go slow because of that.
I am also working on the background file for my fantasy book.
I plan on being well prepared for next year's NaNoWrimo! I actually loved the challange of it, even though my bronchitis chose to flare up and got in the way!
I did my most when the house was silent and everyone was sleeping. I also was tuned into Kzion radio or listening to the stream of BYU TV.
I am going to go watch the snow fall, which it is doing alot of right now and try to get the dogs to come indoors!

A Girl and Her Dog.....
Friday I adopted a dog. He is a 10 year-old black Spaniel named Chase. I will begin attending obiedence classes with him on Monday.
He is going blind and they would have put him to sleep had my dad not brought him to me. He sticks to me like glue and is often called my Mansy.
There are others in the household who are not too happy with this turn of events, namely my cousin. She is doing much complaining and I am fighting to keep my cool.
On the NaNoWriMo front the word count total came out to a total of 16,014 words. I don't consider this to be a failure seeing I was unable to start at all last year. I have a goal for next year and the head of our area said that to take it as a race against yourself and to go at your own pace.
That is sound advice that I am gonna follow.

Holidahs....
Happt Holidays!
My Thaksgiving was ok. I spent it writing and sleeping. I am not getting much sleep right now. My 7 month old kitten went into her first heat and then my moter's white one followed suit. Both like to howl at that point.
On th NaNoWriMo front I have managed 15k words. I am having issues so,,,,,
I am going to write tomorrow. Apparently SciFi is running a reply of episodes leading up to the new season! Yay!
I have alo discovered a way to help my YA novel and am working on that slowly. I read book one of The Princess Diaries and it looks like that is my option. I am going to be better prepared for next year's NaNoWriMo.
Today is the Battle of Utah. All I can say is.... GO Cougars!

Sleepy Writer
This one will be short as I am tired.
I am still sick, but that is not really bugging the creative juices. I have spent time sleeping instead of writing at points, but so far I have pushed out a tad over 1,000 words.
I am going to sleep some and then see if I can do more so that I am back on track tomorrow!
I am determined to do this!
On the computer front, I am d+rwaiting for an email or call from HP about my burner because it is refusing to burn a dvd with a dvd+r even though the software says it is supported.
I am probably going to take the laptop in for a wipe to be safe seeing it was acting up too, but that is after the holidays!
Zzzzzzzzz!

I Know.......
Today is the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgereld. 32 years ago 29 men lost their lives in a freak storm on Lake Superior. I was a child living in Toledo when it happened. It is something that I will not soon forget.
I have yet to write today. We got company and my ribs hurt from all the coughing I did, along with the growling. My desktop crashed and it took 4 hours to reinstall things.
I am going to try and work some as soon as I am done here.

NaNoWriMo Week One
Well week one is done, and it has been a doozy! I came down sick on the 2nd with something that is a combo of a cold, sinus infection, and bronchitis! I was unable to write untill yesterday, and as I am humming along I hit a wall. Bang, face first! Ouchie!
I am up to 6,000 words at this point, though, which is ok. I plan on writing tonight while watching The Wizard of Oz, which is on cable.
In other news, my alma mater lost in the soccer State semi-finals yesterday. They played hard and I am proud to see then have gotten this far!
I also have to extend my condolances to the Osmond clan. Loosing a father is not easy. I lost mine in 1997, but we had been in contact for only a short time before that and I was devistated when it happened. The idea of Eternal Families helps alot with the pain, and it is probably aiding them right now.
More Later! Research is calling, gotta get past my wall!
